I had an H-1B which expired 2 years ago. I am on L1 at present. Can I change to H-1B now or do I have to wait for April 1?

If you did not stay out of the US for more than a year, you might be able to get back on H-1B. Since you will not be cap-subject, you need not wait for April 1st.

If you have been granted H1B classification within the past six years and have not stayed outside the US for more than a year during these six years, you are not subject to the cap.
