OPT and H1 B Query

Dear Morley, I am studying as an undergraduate at NYU. If I use 6 months of my OPT to complete 2 summer internships, I'll have only 6 months left after graduation. Is this advisable? Also if I graduate in May and am offered a position in advance based on an internship, can the employer file H1 for me in April even though I graduate in May. Really appreciate your advice

Even if you finish 12 months of OPT, still you can get 17 more months subject to certain conditions. About filing H1B Petition, you should be qualified on the date the H1B Petition is filed.

Hi, Many thanks for the reply. I am a little confused. So if I graduate on the first of May with a degree, can the employer file for H1B one month before in Aril, if i get a letter from the university saying that I'll graduate in a mnth. thank you so much
