I am a Ph.D. and working in U.S. I am thinking about applying for a G.C. But I want to do MBA in a couple of years time. If I apply for a G.C and if I do not get it by the time I go back to school , that might cause problem for my F1 Visa. Please give me your advice in this situation. Thank you.

You are able to study when you are on H1B status, as long as you are also employed by the sponsoring employee. But if you file immigration petition, your chances for getting an F1 visa is very low because F1 Visa status does not allow for intention to migrate to the U.S.
